New Tax Year

It is never too early in the tax year to bring affairs up to date.

It is never too early in the tax year to bring affairs up to date.

Partner Robert Smith said, for those businesses and individuals who can, it was worth submitting details as soon as possible.

“We might be only weeks into the new tax year but the earlier the better when it comes to financial planning,” he said.

“It takes the stress out of the January submission deadline for clients as well as the teams here.”

He also issued a reminder to the many clients who have income tax paid on account due by 31st July.

It was a payment deadline that was sometimes overlooked, he said. HMRC can be sporadic in terms of sending out statements.

“It is important to keep on top of HMRC demands, otherwise you can soon start to run into problems,” he said.

“With a tightening up of economic conditions it's better you know, sooner rather than later, where you stand in terms of the income tax deadline and payments due in January 2024.

“It is about financial planning and not leaving things until the last minute. Getting your 22-23 tax return information into RNS sooner rather than later means you have more time to plan out your finances ahead of January.

“If you do require advice or support, please ring your RNS contact as soon as possible.”
