Mike joined the firm in 1978, starting at the Brigg office and transferring to the Scunthorpe office in 1983, then qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1984.

He attended Sir John Nelthorpe School (Brigg Grammar, as it was then), then did a year’s foundation course at Hull College of Higher Education before joining the firm.

He is a manager working with various members of staff, mainly for partner Robert Smith’s clients.

He’s involved in accounts work, corporation tax and personal tax for small and medium-sized businesses and their directors, and also specialises in charity accounts.

He enjoys the variety of work arising from the different aspects of the services provided for clients.

Mike plays bridge regularly, and is treasurer of Scunthorpe Bridge Club and Lincolnshire Contract Bridge Association.
