Congratulations to clients GS Kelsey Ltd after they picked up a top honour at the annual Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards.

Managing Director Matthew Robinson collected the ABP Business Growth Award at the event organised by the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce and held at the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe.

The building contractors have clients across the public and private sector.

The firm was established 20 years ago and has seen five successive years of growth after Matthew (28) was appointed as a director.

It employs more than 30 people and has just taken on a further two apprentices.

Matthew was also a runner-up in the Franklin College Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

RNS Chartered Accountants’ partner Robert Smith was pleased for Matthew and his colleagues.

“The award is recognition for an excellent period of growth,” said Robert. “The firm’s strategy, under Matthew’s stewardship, was to take the recession head on.

“They took a risk, using reserves to stimulate growth, but it has paid off handsomely.

“We’re pleased to have offered financial and business growth advice and play a small part in the firm’s success story.”
